Dear Burk,
You had a bad night. Surgery on your shoulder was post-poned.
Any time the sedation is lowered, you kinda freak out. There is a new nurse today. Her name is Susan.
She lowered your sedation to check your ability to respond to commands. You tried to climb out of bed.
You're strong. Much stronger than her. She called for help.
Mom walked to your bed and said "Burk, put your head down." You actually listened.
The nurse was probably quite relieved. This is her first day with you and she's not aware of your "fight" yet. She'll learn. Quickly I imagine.
You're still able to give thumbs up and move things when asked. But they had to increase your sedation to try and make your more comfortable. You aren't moving at all anymore.
Your blood levels are low. You'll need more transfusions.
You also had a "yucky" chest x-ray. They put you on antibiotics.
Another CT scan today. There is more bleeding in your brain.
Mom and Dad were with you at the hospital all morning. Mom hasn't left. She's nervous. And watchful.
Kelli came this afternoon.
We're still going to try and do some sort of dinner for dad for Father's Day. Mom doesn't want to leave you there alone, but we're kinda making her. She needs a little break. The nurses are constantly watching you so you're in good hands.
We're ready for some improvements. Let's see what you can do.
:)
