Oops.

Dear Burk,
Time passed.  Things got busy around here.
Mundane.  I never thought it would happen, but things have actually become relatively mundane with you. Although mundane isn't necessarily a good thing.  It's just the same crap, different day.  You legs are still broken in case you're wondering.  And your arm.  And your head.  But it seems as though your personality is exactly the same.  You remember things now.  You don't seem confused.  You're not taking nearly as much pain medication.
You got dumped at least one more time in your wheelchair down the stairs.  I think we've finally mastered that though.  You can now get in and out of bed and to and from the bathroom on your own.
The 24 hour "vigil" by your bedside is still going on though I am doing my best to gently nudge mom into cutting back on that a bit.  I suggested we buy a baby monitor so we can see what you're doing and if you fall we could see it.  She's not convinced thus far.  But I'll keep trying.
Uncle Jim is still here.  Pretty sure he deserves some sort of medal.  Things would have been a lot harder on all of us without him around to help mom and dad.
You've had more visitors.  And it's amazing how you can turn on the Burk charm for them.  They probably think my stories of your grumpiness are made up.  I assure you, they're not.  :)  I suppose that just goes along with human nature that we often treat the people we love the most, the worst.  I wonder why.  Shouldn't be that way.
As your physical ailments slowly recover, we are quickly faced with the fact that old habits die hard.  Or never die at all.  That's all I'll say in such a public forum, but we're kinda right back where we were before the accident.  Frustrating.
God spared you for a reason.  I don't think we can argue that.  I just hope you figure that out sooner rather than later.  Or never.
